Mark Meuser here. We are now less than two weeks away from the close of voting on Proposition 50.

I’ve been working with a team of attorneys across California to make sure every eligible voter can cast a ballot and that every legal vote is properly counted. I’ve also been traveling throughout Southern California, educating voters about the truth behind Proposition 50.

At the same time, I’ve been carefully monitoring early mail-in ballot returns. One thing is abundantly clear: this will be a low turnout election. The side that turns out its voters will be the side that wins.

That’s why my team and I are working so hard to turn out common sense voters in Orange County. Orange County was absolutely hurt by Gavin Newsom’s gerrymandering, and we need to make sure every voice here is heard.

Can I ask you to do one simple but powerful thing? Text 50 friends and family members. Tell them you’re voting No on Prop 50, and ask them to do the same. Encourage them to make a plan to vote and then follow through. In a low turnout election, every single vote matters more than ever.

Finally, I want to share a bit of insider knowledge. I’ve been retained by a client to file a lawsuit against the State if Proposition 50 passes. After consulting with legal experts, we believe there are serious constitutional problems with the measure that violate the 14th and 15th Amendments. If Prop 50 is approved, I’ll be ready to immediately file suit and ask the court to block implementation of the new maps until the case can be fully litigated.

While I am prepared to fight in the courtroom, I would much rather win this battle at the ballot box. Please make your plan to vote and join me in voting No on Proposition 50.

P.S. Have you seen my latest short video on Prop 50? It’s a great link to share with your friends when you text them about the election: https://youtu.be/z3busuaMEG4
